Enyimba are confident they will not be affected by the cold weather in Sousse when they face Etoile du Sahel in a CAF Champions League clash on Wednesday night, the Nigerian champions’ kit manager Ikechi Okoro has told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Aba Elephant Hotel Habib base in Monastir, Okoro said that the team had purchased the latest thermal underwear to keep the players warm during the match.
Enyimba go into the second leg match with a 3-0 advantage from the first leg and an aggregate victory will take them to the group phase.
“We have proper thermal underwear to keep the boys warm. Cold will not be a factor at all,” Okoro said. “Besides, these are some of the most talented and most experienced players in the NPFL who have played in different climatic conditions in Nigeria and Africa. There won’t be a problem in Sousse.”
Enyimba’s opponents Etoile du Sahel had changed the kick-off time from 6pm to 7pm local time on Wednesday when temperatures are expected to be around 16 degrees Celsius.
“They never informed us of the change in timing. We only got to know when we arrived in Monastir,” said Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi-Agu. “But we are not perturbed by their antics. We have arranged our own accommodation, security and transportation.”
