Nigerian sides will hope to make big impact in both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Two – time African champions, Enyimba will welcome Burundian outfit, Vital'0 to their makeshift home ground, the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The Nigerian champions beat Vipers Sports Club of Uganda 2-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round.
Vital'0 edged out Lioli FC of Lesotho 2-2 on aggregate. They won the first 2-1 on the road, but lost the return leg at home 1-0.
Enyimba have struggled for form in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season and struggled a bit against Vipers.
"This game offers us a big opportunity to show we are a top side that is capable of winning the African title," Enyimba's centre-back, Idris Aloma, told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We started the season slowly last term and ended it on a high by winning the league title. We are confident of turning things around once again.
Also in the CAF Champions League, Warri Wolves will play their first game in the competition against Sudanese side, Al Merreikh in what is their debut appearance.
Their opponents in the preliminary round, Club Sporting de Praia of Sao Tome and Principe withdrew from the competition allowing them easy passage into the first round.
The Seasiders face a tough task ahead in the competition with only 14 eligible players available to coach Peter Nieketien to pick from.
The likes of Lordson Ichul, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Gbolaham Salami who were registered to participate in the competition have all left the club.
Nasarawa United who are without a win from three games in the NPFL host Algerian side, Club Sportif Constantine in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The progressed to the first round following a hard fought 2-1 aggregate win against AS Academie Generation Foot of Senegal.
"We have been able to get a few things on Club Sportif Constantine which we have passed to our technical team.
"We know it is a team that believes in its own home turf and supporters, so we will pile up pressure here and try to finish the job in Akure before the return the leg," the club chairman Isaac Danladi recently said.
The match will be played by 2pm at the Abuja National Stadium.
