Enyimba midfielder Dare Ojo says the club will look to improve on their performance before the start of the new season following Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Rivers United in a friendly game at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Peoples Elephant struggled to match their opponents in the first half who wasted a number of goalscoring opportunities, but Enyimba were totally dominant in the second period.
And ahead of the kick-off of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season, Ojo who joined the former African champions from Nigeria National League club Kwara United last season is upbeat Enyimba will build on the performance in subsequent outings.
"The game against Rivers United was a tough one for us. It was a good test ahead of the new season," the versatile midfielder told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We struggled a bit in the first half but things improved for us a bit in the second half and we could have won the game.
"For us, the new season starts on Sunday and we hope to build on our performance in the game and have a successful campaign."
The Aba giants will take on Sunshine Stars in their opening fixture on Sunday in their adopted home ground in Calabar.
