Enyimba’s Udoh, Wolves Coach Boast Ahead Of Glo League Title Clash

By Adeboye Amosu In Aba:

Enyimba forward, Mfon Udoh, hopes to end the season on a high by helping the Peoples Elephant win a record seventh title reports, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The Aba-based outfit need just a point from Sunday’s match day 37 clash against title rivals, Warri Wolves, to win the title.
The forward has endured a torrid time in this campaign as injury and poor form have limited his appearance for the six-time league champions.
Udoh has managed to score five goals all season, a meagre return considering his high scoring rate in the last two seasons.
He scored 16 goals for Akwa United in the 2013/2014 season which earned him a move to Enyimba. Last season he netted 23 times, the highest by any individual in a single season in the history of the Glo Premier League.
Last weekend, he scored what was perphas the club’s most important goal this season, a brilliant solo goal against local rivals Abia Warriors that sealed a 1-0 win and maintained their hold on top of the log.
And after losing the title narrowly to Kano Pillars last term, the Akwa Ibom-born striker is eager to add the league title to the Federation Cup trophy he won with Enyimba last season.
“This has really been a challenging season for me, but I thank God I have a chance to end it on a positive note,” Udoh told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Last season we came close to winning the title, but we lost out eventually to Kano Pillars which was very painful.
“This time around, we have a very good chance of winning it again and I hope we don’t let it slip out of our hands again.”
Meanwhile, Warri Wolves coach Paul Aigbogun is also confident his side can beat Enyimba in Sunday’s crucial clash in Aba reports, Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Seasiders who are in the hunt for a first league title must beat the league leaders to give themselves a chance of ending the season on a high.
And the coach boasted that his charges are capable of claiming a famous win against the Peoples Elephant at their backyard.
“We are here to win and we believe it is a task that is achievable,” Aigbogun told completesportsnigeria.com.
“It’s a remarkable thing to be in this position, to win the title, which is why we must give our all against them (Enyimba).
“We have performed well recently in our away games and we are looking forward to another great outing.”
Warri Wolves won the reverse fixture at the Warri City 2-1.
