EPL:  Iwobi Stars,  Grabs Assist In Arsenal Defeat To Liverpool

  • Nigeria winger, Alex Iwobi, put up a fine performance but was unable to prevent Arsenal from going down to 5-1 defeat against Liverpool in their English Premier League clash at the Anfield on Saturday, reports Completesports.com.

    Iwobi provided the assist for the Gunners opening goal in the 11th minute for Ainsley Maitland-Niles and was one of the top performers for Unai Emery’s men in the game.

    The 22-year-old played the entire 90 minutes of the game. He has now made 18 league appearances for the club and has scored twice.

    Brazilian forward, Firmino grabbed brace for Liverpool in the game, with Mohamed Salah and Saido Mane scoring the other goals.

    Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table to nine points following the win, while Arsenal remain in fifth position.

    Arsenal will host Fulham in their next game on new year’s day, while Liverpool will travel to the Etihad to face Manchester City.

    Iwobi did very well I was impressed he didn’t deserve to be on the loosing team. I think he got jarred up after been relegated to the bench in the last two games.

    Iwobi was real in that match. The Arsenal defense was their undoing. The players played like chickens whose heads were cut off. Iwobi was never afraid to take the Liverpool on.
