Former Super Eagles assistant coach Joe Erico has expressed confidence that the home-based Eagles can overturn their 1-0 first leg deficit against Benin Republic in the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) return leg qualifier in Kano on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The home-based Eagles lost 1-0 to Benin Republic in the first leg last Sunday at Stade de l’amite in Cotonou.
To qualify for the 2018 CHAN, the home-based Eagles must beat Benin Republic by two clear goals.
Erico who was one of the assistants Super Eagles at the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations in Mali working with the late Amodu Shuaibu, stated that the coach Salisu Yusuf-led side must put their act together.
“Having lost the first leg away, it doesn’t mean they are not going to be able to win the return leg. They can win,” former Julius Berger coach Erico told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“It all depends on how they package themselves.
“All we need to do is to wish them luck because they are our team and deserve our support.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
