Etebo Optimistic Stoke City Will Bounce Back From Winless Streak

By Johnny Edward:

Oghenekaro Etebo is confident that Stoke City will bounce back from their poor start to the 2018/19 English Football League Championship season, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

After four games in the Championship, the Potters have recorded two draws and two defeats, a poor run which has left the club languishing in the bottom rung of the table.

The Nigeria international has made one start and three substitute appearances since joining Sgoke City from C.D Feriense.

He admits that the start to the campaign has been tough but tips the club to bounce back starting with a win against Hull City on Saturday.

“The start of the season has been a bit tough but we will get things right,” Etebo told CSN.

“We will be out to get a win like we have always aimed at.”

Etebo is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad to face Seychelles in September away in an 2019 African Nations Cup qualifier.

Oya go and remove them na. And put your own manufactured players that have played 38 games this season already. I really dont know what some of you want. Discard all 23 that went to the world cup and invite another 23. How will you feel, teching 23 students in a class ttoday and you come tomorrow and all 23 are not present but another set of students and you have to teach them same thing you taught the previous group…..and that sequence goes on till the end of the term. Will you be able to achieve anything as the teacher…?

      • bro..its my own opinion as a bonafide super eagles fan..you can as well stick to urs

        • Well done Luomo for standing up for yourself.
Dr Drey is no more than a glorified online bully and hooligan who preys on those whose views he disagrees.
He made the mistake of doing it to me once and I dealt with him.
If you stand up to bullies, they will run.
          3 gbosas for you Luomo.

          • thanks bro..i dont know when voicing ones opinion bcomes a sin..am beginning to suspect someone who comments here often too as the brain behind this name…lol

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has added new faces to the team ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles in September.

Following withdrawals and injuries that affected the key players in the team, the former Bayern Munich defender has decided to incorporate four players to his squad.

They are Jamilu Collins (SC Paderborn), former Arsenal U23 skipper Semi Ajayi, new Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu and Arsenal loanee Kelechi Nwakali.

Also making a return to the team is Galatasaray forward Henry Onyekuru.

Nigeria lost their opening group encounter 2-0 against South Africa in June 2017 played in Uyo and will need to respond in Seychelles.

Nigeria has failed to qualify for the last two editions of the AFCON and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) administration now in charge of Amaju Pinnick are preparing for the encounter which will be crucial to the hopes of the country.
