Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has blamed the team’s poor showing in Monday’s international friendly match with DR Congo at the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium Port Harcourt on the poor condition of the pitch, Completeportsnigeria.com reports.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw with DR Congo in the World Cup buildup game.
Bursaspor defender William Troost-Ekong scored in the 14th minute – his first international goal in 19th appearance for the three time African Champions.
Cedric Ngulubi’s strike from the spot pegged Nigeria back in the 78th minute after Ola Aina was adjudged to have fouled Issama Mpeko in the penalty area.
Etebo told CSN in a brief chat that he gave his best in a tough condition on matchday.
“It was a good game, but I must admit the poor turf made it difficult for us to play well, but I feel we did well to get a result to please our fans on the day,” Etebo stated.
“I think that we will be better organized than we were when we face England. That’s the game we are all looking forward to.”
Etebo had an impressive second half of the season with Las Palmas in the Spanish La Liga.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
