Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was the hero for his club Feirense as he scored late to secure a 2-1 away win against Belenense in the Portuguese top flight on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Etebo scored an 89th minute penalty to give Feirense the win.
Belenense had taken the lead in the 17th minute through Juanto Ortuno before Edson Paraiba equalised for Feirense on 69 minutes.
The goal was Etebo’s second in 16 league appearances for Feirense this season.
The victory was Feirense’s third straight win which lifted them to ninth in the league table.
In the Danish first division also on Sunday, Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu bagged a brace for Midtjylland but it was not enough as they lost 3-2 away to Brondby.
Onuachu scored in the 40th and 65th minutes for Midtjylland.
Lebogang Phiri, Johan Larsson and Christian Noergaard were the scorers for Brondby.
Uche Agbo was sent off for Granada who lost 4-2 at to Barcelona in the Spanish LaLiga, also on Sunday.
Agbo received his second yellow card in the 82nd minute hence his sending off.
Goals from Luis Suarez, Francisco Alcacer, Neymar and Ivan Rakitic gave Barca the comfortable win.
Jeremie Boga was on target for Granada.
In the German Bundesliga, Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun made an appearance for Mainz who lost 2-1 away to Ingolstadt.
Balogun was however substituted in the 46th minute for Giulio Donati.
In the Dutch Eredivisie, Super Eagles new invitee Tyronne Ebuehi was in action for ADO Den Haag who defeated visiting Roda JC 4-1.
In action for Roda JC was former Nigeria junior international Abduljeleel Ajagun who was subbed off on 46 minutes.
Ebuehi played for 90 minutes in the win for ADO Den Haag.
