Former Super Falcons coach Eucharia Uche believes the Nigerian women’s team will rise above their failures in recent games and produce good results again, especially if ex-internationals are allowed to coach the team.
The Falcons failed to qualify for the 2016 Olympics and could not win the women’s football event of the 11th All Africa Games in Congo.
Their FIFA ranking has also suffered a slump. The team coached by Christopher Danjuma are now ranked 38th in the world.
“Everybody is saddened by the fact that the Falcons have been poor recently, falling at the first round of the World Cup and failing to win the football event of the All Africa Games,” the former Super Falcons star told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“However I feel the team will bounce back in the nearest future. We should start by hiring a quality coach for the team if the plan of the NFF is to get one.
“And with some modesty, I feel someone like me, Ann Chiejine, Mercy Akide-Udoh and a few others deserve to be in charge of the team.”
