England’s long wait for a first ever opening game win at the European Championship continued after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Russia in Group B second game at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille on Saturday.
England opended scoring through Tottenham’s Eric Dier well taken free-kick.
But in the final minute of added time, Vasili Berezutski drew Russia level.
England came the closest to opening the first goal in the seventh minute after Lallana latched on to the ball from close range but Akinfeev parried away.
In the 12th minute, England came close again through Chris Smalling whose header off a corner went straight to Igor Akinfeev.
Adam Lallana failed to find the target on 23 minutes off a cutback as he dragged an angled shot wide.

Dier made England’s dominance count on 70 minutes, hitting a free-kick over the Russian wall after Alli was fouled on the edge.
England made their first change on 78 minutes, bringing on Wilshere for Rooney.
Lallana attempted a long range shot in the 79th minute but his effort went over the bar.
Raheem Sterling had the ball in the net on 82 minutes after good play from Wilshere but it was ruled out for offside.
England won a free-kick close the Russian box in the 85th minute whick Kane blazed over the bar.
James Milner was introduced for Sterling in the 87th minute for England’s second substitution.
