Euro 2016: Sweden Rally Back To Hold Ireland

Sweden and Republic of Ireland battled to a thrilling 1-1 draw in their Euro 2016  Group E game at the Stade de France  on Monday.
Repubic of Ireland deservedly took the lead in the 48th minute through Wes Hoolahan while Sweden restored parity following by own goal by Ciaran Clark in the  18th minute.

Sweden dominated the game in the first half but it was Republic of  Ireland who carved out the best chances.
Their talismanic forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic,  was at times forced to drop very deep to get involved in the game as he was afforded little time on the ball by Ireland.

Veteran centre-back, John O'Shea,  wasted Ireland's  best chance of the half in the 17th minute when he squandered a clear opening from a corner.

Jeff  Hendrick also came close for Irish in the 32nd  minute but his effort hit the woodwork with goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson  well beaten.

Martin O'Neill's side  started the second half in the ascendancy and were rewarded for their efforts when  Hoolahan scored the opener three minutes after the restart.

The impressive Coleman weighed in  a beautiful cross with Hoolahan producing a lovely first time finish into the top corner.
Ibrahimovic was presented with his first chance of the game on the hour mark but his shot went wide off the post.

The former Juventus   striker was involved in his  side's leveller as his cross was diverted into the net by  Clark in the 72nd minute.
Both teams battled hard to find the winner in the closing stages of the encounter but in the end had to settle for a point each.
