Europa League: Ambrose Dropped As Celtic Crash Out

By James Agberebi:

Efe Ambrose was an unused substitute for Celtic who lost 2-1 at home to Ajax in Thursday’s Group A Europa League match.

The result kept Ajax in the hunt for a round of 32 spot, while Celtic were knocked out of the competition.

Callum Mcgregor gave Celtic a fourth minute lead but goals from Arkadiuaz Milik and Vaclav Cerny in the 22nd and 88th minutes respectively gave Ajax the victory.

In a group D clash, Danish side Midtjylland, with Nigerian player Paul Onuachu in action, lost 1-0 away to Legia Warszawa.

Onuachu, who came off the bench in the 36th minute, replaced Morten Duncan Rasmussen.

Aleksandar Prijovic scored the only goal of the match in the 35t minute.
