Europa League: Ogu’s Hapoel Held At Home

Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu featured for his Israeli side, Hapoel Beer Sheva in their 1-1 draw at home against Swiss side Thun, in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying match on Thursday, reports.

The former Academica de Coimbra player, was on for 90 minutes, but couldn’t help his team secure a first leg win.

Ovidiu Stefan Hoban put Hapoel in front in the 26th minute, but an 87th minute strike from Gianluca Frontino made sure both teams shared the spoils.

Meanwhile, Ogu’s Nigerian team-mate, Anthony Nwakaeme was introduced for Maor Melikson with 13 minutes left in the game.

Ogu was in action for the Super Eagles in their 2-0 win against Chad in the 2017 AFCON qualifier in Kaduna.
