Former West Bromwich Albion favourite Richard Sneekes has called Brown Ideye “a revelation”.
Ideye was all set for a move to Qatar on deadline day but has turned his season around.
He may not have found the net at Sunderland but four goals in three games saw Tony Pulis men pick up valuable points against Burnley and Swansea and march into the last eight of the FA Cup with an Ideye inspired demolition of West Ham.
“He came on against Burnley and the first thing he did was work hard,” said Dutch maestro Sneekes.
“That’s the only thing you can do, even if you haven’t got confidence.
“The one thing that fans won’t criticise is if somebody gives it all they’ve got.
“He got a bit of luck with the header when he didn’t get marked. It was another set piece that they have worked on and worked on really well and since then he has been an absolute revelation.
“He has worked hard on his hold-up play, he is running the channels and he has scored some really vital goals.
“It just shows what a goal can do for you and long may it continue for him because he seems a really nice guy.”
