Former Flying Eagles midfielder Chukwuma Akabueze has joined Turkish second division club Boluspor from Norwegian top flight side Odds BK.
Akabueze who completed his move to Boluspor on Tuesday signed an 18-month contract with the Turkish outfit.
The 28-year-old midfielder was in the Flying Eagles squad that got to the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada where they lost 4-0 to a Chile team that had Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Gary Medel.
A statement on Boluspor’s website reads: “Our club has signed a 1.5-year contract with Nigerian midfielder Chukwuma Emmanuel Akabueze (Bentley), who is 28 years old.
“The Nigeria-born midfielder fondly known as the Bentley, started football at the age of 16 at Kwara United team in Nigeria. Bentley, who played three seasons with Kwara United, went on to play for Odds BK, SK Brann, Wuhan Zall.
“At the age of 18, Akabueze was selected for the Nigeria U-20 National Team, and was at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.”
