Former Golden Eaglets winger Habib Makanjuola has signed a four-year deal with Leicester City, Completesportnigeria.com has been informed by his agent Nureni Makanjuola.
Makanjuola, 18, joins the Foxes from Water FC in Nigeria after previous spells with Chelsea’s U-16s and Birmingham’s U-17s.
The Nigerian youngster will join up with Leicester City’s U-23 team for the coming season after impressing on trials at the club.
An excited Makanjuola, who was part of the Nigerian Golden Eaglets squad that won the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates, told Completesportnigeria.com he hopes to cement a place in the first team squad of the club.
That Nigerian team also had Kelechi Iheanacho in 2013.
“I’m happy joining the club. My trials went well and my dream is to play regularly for the club,” Makanjuola told Completesportnigeria.com.
Makanjuola becomes the fifth Nigerian player to play for Leicester after Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi and Iheanacho.
