By James Agberebi: Former home-based Super Eagles and Akwa United midfielder Afeez Aremu scored on his debut for IK Start who thrashed Tromsoe 4-1 in their first game of the Norwegian top flight season on Sunday.
Aremu, who joined IK Start from Aiteo Cup holders Akwa United, scored his side’s fourth goal in the 91st minute.
Kristjan Floki Finnbongason opened the scoring for IK Start on six minutes while Kevin Kabran made it 2-0 a minute later.
In the 61st minute, Elliot Kaeck added a third goal for the home side but former Blackburn star Morten Gamst Pedersen pulled a goal back for Tromsoe to bring score to 3-1.
The win took IK Start to second on three points behind Molde in the 16-team league table.
Aremu was in the home-based Eagles squad that finished second at the 2017 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations in Ghana
