Ex-Internationals Tip Ogunjobi For NFF Presidency

–Shofoluwe says he has enough experience to take Nigerian Football forward

As the Nigeria Football Federation’s elective congress holds tomorrow in Warri, Delta state, former national team players have given their support to Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi saying he is the most experienced and qualified among the candidates and should be voted as the new president to take over from outgoing Alhaji Aminu Maigari.

Speaking to Complete Sports at the weekend, Atlanta ’96 Olympic gold medalist, Dosu Joseph said Ogunjobi who had been in the football house as Secretary General and has also managed many clubs to success in the country has what it takes to lead the federation to the next level and should be voted in as the new president.

According to Dosu, managing the country’s FA required a lot of experience and exposure and Ogunjobi has acquired that over the years which gave him an edge in the race to the NFF top position.

“For me, I think he’s the best man for the job. He has enough experience to revamp our football and correct the anomalies in the NFF, no disrespect to the outgoing board and this is not to disrespect other candidates,” says Dosu.

Also speaking to Complete Sports at the weekend was Yisa Shofoluwe who also believes that all the candidates have acquired experience in football management but sees Ogunjobi as a more qualified candidate for the top position.

“I respect all the candidates and at various stages and levels, they have had one or two things to contribute to our football but I believe that Ogunjobi has an edge and is more qualified because we all know the role he played while he was the Secretary General of the NFA and for someone who has had that exposure, I think he should be given the chance to be the next president so that our football can move forward.

Meanwhile, other contestants cleared by the electoral committee for presidency position in the elective congress are Yola Abba Abdullahi (Kano State), Chief Mike Umeh – (Anambra State),Pinnick Amaju Melvin (Delta State),Iorfa Mtem Dominic (Benue State), Dikko Shehu (Kaduna State) and Amanze U. Uchegbulam (Imo State).
