Former England and Manchester United defender, Paul Parker, has described Nigeria and Chelsea star Mikel Obi as a betterholding midfielder than Paul Pogba.
Pogba returned to United in a world-record £89 million from Italian Serie A champions, Juventus.
Speaking with 888sport.com, Parker who won the English Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup with United, went on to question Pogba's ability to match the achievements of former United skippers, Roy Keane and Bryan Robson.
"Can he be as good as Roy Keane or Bryan Robson? I wonder about him playing that midfield role,” said Parker of United's world record signing.
“I worry about him making tackles and getting across to close players down because he is rangy. He doesn’t have quick feet and his game is about going to ground. That’s going to be a problem.
“In a holding position it would be a waste because he’s not a Makelele or even a John Obi Mikel because one thing Mikel can do is close people down.
"Pogba can get forward, and score goals, and pass the ball," Parker continued.
"But in a high-tempo game he won’t be very good in a deep role."Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
