Ahead of the extraordinary congress of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) slated for Thursday, a former board member of the defunct Nigeria Premier League (NPL), Honourable Joe Amene has pleaded with the members to ensure the cabals that had dominated the Nigeria football space since the election of the impeached Alhaji Aminu Maigari are flushed out completely from the system.
Amene lamented that Alhaji Maigari allowed himself to be hijacked by some members of his board whose interest only is in themselves, stressing for Nigeria football to move forward and stability restored, the few bad eggs in the federation board need to be shown the red card.
“It’s sad that Maigari had to be sacrificed but the truth is, he’s a good man but was mulled by some self-serving individuals close to him,” Amene lamented.
The former media committee chairman of the NPL charged members of the congress to canvass positive ideas to move Nigerian football forward rather than looking for easy way to perpetuate themselves in the system.
He however warned that any member of the congress with sinister motive to disrupt the congress should chose between staying in the comfort of his hotel room or risks the discomfort of the Kuje Prison.
