Former Nigeria international Godwin Okpara and former Lagos State Governor and current Minister for Power and Steel Babatunde Fashola featured for the Lagos All-Stars team that dfeated the Abuja All-Stars 2-1 on Saturday.
The game was played at the Eagle Club, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere, Lagos.
Also in action for the Lagos All-Stars was Golden Eaglets skipper to the 1989 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Scotland, Olusegun Fetuga.
Present at the game was former Nigeria and Barcelona defender Gbenga Okunowo and former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) First Vice President Amanze Uchegbulam.
After a 0-0 first-half, the Lagos All-Stars opened scoring through Complete Sports’ Julius Ojeagbase who finished off a cross with a superb flying header.
Lagos All-Stars doubled their lead as Victor Ominu converted from the penalty spot after Ojeagbase was fouled inside the box.
The Abuja All-Stars pulled a goal back also from the penalty spot converted by Emmanuel Nwabuzor.
The All-Stars fixture is a football game that occasionally brings together former Nigerian internationals, celebrities and enthusiasts.
