Eyeama: No Cause For Alarm

Eyeama: No Cause For Alarm

Lille FC of France goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has backed the Super Eagles to bounce back from their 3-2 shock home defeat to Congo Brazzaville at the start of their 2015 African Nations Cup qualifying campaign in Calabar at the weekend.

Enyeama who pulled out of the AFCON game due to family reasons however called on his teammates to believe in themselves as they face South Africa in their next game on Wednesday.

The 30-year old shot stopper also warned against criticizing the team for their not too impressive performance which saw Nigeria tasting defeat for the first time at home in 33 years.

“Losing doesn’t make you a failure. We are well able to rise, conquer and have dominion.” he wrote on his instagram wall @vinny2908.

“We have done it before and we will do it again. Let us believe and work hard towards greatness.

“Let’s join our hands and let’s become a stronger force. It’s not the time to blame and criticize; it’s time to push towards greatness”, he concluded.

Nigeria took an early lead but was 2-1 behind by half-time and only an 89th-minute goal by Warri Wolves Gbolahan Salami closed the gap to 3-2.

But why Vincent Eyeama shouldn’t join the squad in the camp now because I don’t believe in that Austin Ejide in way he conceded chilling goals again Congo please Keshi should talk to Eyeama to keep the goal for us against South Africa or he haven’t settle his family issues since? Please we must win Bafana Bafana ooh.

Enyeama is talking as a captain trying to motivate his team. However We should not deceive ourselves. The Eagles has problems. Even if we have a good performance in South Africa, Keshi still has not solved the problems that the Eagles have had since the summer of 2013. If Emenike or victor Moses is absent or under perform Nigeria is in trouble. Nigeria lack creativity and attacking vision.

Many Nigerians have been attacking Mikel. Nigeria does not have Mikel problem. Mikel has been playing as defensive Midfielder in Europe for almost 10 years now yet Nigerian expect to produce playmaking and attacking midfield magic. Nigeria and the Eagles coaches must accept that Mikel is not a creative midfield player anymore.

Please stop insulting Mikel. Keshi should do his job and give Nigerians a genuine creative playemaker in Midfield to feed the strikers.

No comment till after the match on Wednesday……good thing he has invited the Uche brothers

    • where did you get information he has invited Uche brothers and for which match, againts SA? its just rumours

  • we should be objective in our comments. Austin Ejide cannot be solely blamed for the goals conceded by the SUPER EAGLES against Congo. Our defence simply refused to function as a unit, thus exposing the ‘keeper necessarily. Afterall, he made some saves!
