Lille FC of France goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has backed the Super Eagles to bounce back from their 3-2 shock home defeat to Congo Brazzaville at the start of their 2015 African Nations Cup qualifying campaign in Calabar at the weekend.
Enyeama who pulled out of the AFCON game due to family reasons however called on his teammates to believe in themselves as they face South Africa in their next game on Wednesday.
The 30-year old shot stopper also warned against criticizing the team for their not too impressive performance which saw Nigeria tasting defeat for the first time at home in 33 years.
“Losing doesn’t make you a failure. We are well able to rise, conquer and have dominion.” he wrote on his instagram wall @vinny2908.
“We have done it before and we will do it again. Let us believe and work hard towards greatness.
“Let’s join our hands and let’s become a stronger force. It’s not the time to blame and criticize; it’s time to push towards greatness”, he concluded.
Nigeria took an early lead but was 2-1 behind by half-time and only an 89th-minute goal by Warri Wolves Gbolahan Salami closed the gap to 3-2.
