“I wish my team the best and hope to join in celebrations when they bring the trophy home! Go Nigeria!”

The Super Eagles players and officials are scheduled to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) Wednesday morning before they fly to London aboard a chartered aircraft for another pre-World Cup friendly against England’s Three Lions at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

After their game with England, the team will depart for Bad Tatzmannsdorf, a town in Austria, where they will spend eight days at the Avita Resort before flying to Russia.

They will play a final pre-World Cup friendly against the Czech Republic at the Rudolf Tonn Stadium on 6 June.

i would hav loved it if u had made it, becs i love ur composure on d ball nd ur height advantage for aeriel balls, but those u ar left wea dea be4 u, dnt worry, anu la ta, echi bu nta!

Why are you so disappointed Eze? But you’ve already told you on this platform!

  • moonwalker 4 years ago

Mikel Agu and one of our full backs will be next to be dropped.

of course, Moses Simon will not make it so we have 25 players now.

if Tyronne Ebuehi’s injury lingers then it’ll be him and Agu.

but definitely not Echiejile cos Rhor has this tradition of keeping his winning team.

so it’s either Mikel Agu and Joel Obi or Mikel Agu and Tyronne Ebuehi

    • i think ola aina will be dropped if what he showcase against congo was his best

    • How is Echiejile part of Rohr’s winning team? That was then not anymore. I agree Rohr won’t likely drop him as things look but I don’t see him playing major part in the team.

  • @moonwalker, you think Rohr will go with five fullbacks? No it’s not going to work, expect one if Aina or Echejile (sp) and Agu to miss out

    • noonwalker 4 years ago

aina is more skillful, calculative, confident and agile than echiejile so Aina is definitely going to Russia but Echiejile has been in Rhor’s team till now.so based on sentiment he will keep him and drom Ebuehi who is showing signs of injury.

      watch out.

      • I do not see any skill or all those attributes in Aina else Chelsea will not loan him out,he is just okay. Where did you read the Ebuehi’s injury from? Hope not the cramp. By the way no sane coach will leave a Benfica bound player for an English championship player that the team was fighting relegation all through and just escaped. The battle is Idown(who I think is Russia bound), Aina and Echejile. For Aina to go to Russia, Echejile will miss out (difficult based on experience). Simon injury will mean Simmy will  go. Mind you Agu is also there and Rohr seems to like him (but I think he will miss out).

  • If they drop Echiejile, How do u want players like Musa, Iheanacho and others perform in training? U will soon hear tomorrow that iheanacho and iwobi score hat trick each in training.

Rohr will drop one of echiejile/aina and one of agu/Joel obi. buh d truth is I don’t see him dropping echiejile even though I would have preferred aina, and I would prefer a Joel to agu.

      Very competitive list.
Echijiele is first choice followed by Idowu.
I see Agu been drop because we need a list sided attacking midfielder like Obi Joel.
Awuziem mIght be drop also with Agbo. shehu,Aina are utility players.

    • What most fans here failed to notice in that match against DRC is that beside Balogun, Ekong and maybe Uzoho, Rohr played his bench or team B plus players he was trialing. You’ll see team start the game on Saturday against England.

      • I mean Team A will start on Saturday with the likes of Mikel, Iwobi, Abdullahi, Ighalo, Moses etc.

  • I am afraid Echiejile will be to the SE Russia 2018 what Hobo was I Brazil 2014.
Since we are re-building, I ‘d rather have Kelechi Nwakali instead of Onazi or Musa.
Echiejile is completely out of consideration., his time is gone.

Musa is a world cup player. Remember he scored 2 goals in the last world cup.

  • Yobo

  • Cherechi 4 years ago

My main concern is that Mikel Agu of a guy,I pray our coach does not take him,if not… God bless SE

  • Mikel Agu might as well be the Garba Lawal of this team, nobody likes his play except the coach who knows his value.
FOR those of us who were old enough to remember the loss in 2000 nations cup final between Nigeria and Cameroon in Lagos, after the loss, Bonfere Joe regretted bowing to fans pressure to drop Garba Lawal from the lineup in that match.
Westerhorf also regretted the injury to Moses Kpakor before USA 1994.

  • Ebuehi is a good player but 0rone to injury. I do not understand how Ola Aina can be judged based on Congo match. He performed way better that Elderson and the penalty he conceded was an error of referee’s judgment. Ola Aina can cover for both left and right full backs so dropping him is going to be a very wrong decision for Rohr. I stand to be corrected, just as Lokosa was wrongly judged by being played out of position, so is Aina whose favorite position is right back. If Rohr wants to put sentiment aside, Elderson seems to have outlived his relevance in the team. If his experience is the reason for the sentiment, Elderson wa one of the major reason we lost to South Africa. His experience was of no use to us in that match.

    • Izuchukwu 4 years ago

Kudos. The experience of Echiejile is of no relevance to the team.

  • What we don’t understand about Rohr is that he might not drop those players he persuaded to play for the country. He used the world cup to entice them here so he will not betray them. To me, they’ve all done very well. He is also afraid of dropping Echechije because of the pressure from his coaching crew in the name of experience. To be frank, Echiechile has no business in the team.
Mikel Agu, Elderson Echiejile, and either Moses Simon or a surprise exit of a loved player.
The most important thing is for the team to deliver very well irrespective of the players chosen. All the best to our team!

Elderson Echiejile and Omeruo may not make it to Russia, IMO.

  • there’s something that people don’t understand about agu
he keep possession and he had good control on the ball despite the bad pitch

  • Presh 4 years ago

What about Akpeyi he is taking, its a joke.
