Ezekiel Bags First Europa League Goal, Onazi Features In Lazio’s Win

By Johnny Edward:

Anderlecht's Nigerian striker Imoh Ezekiel made an instant impact as a substitute when he scored his first Europa League goal for his side as they lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane Thursday night.

Ezekiel who came on for  Youri Tielemans in the 71st minute restored parity for Besnik Hasi two minutes later when he timely side-footed home an excellent Steven Defour's curling cross, but his joy was shortlived by Mousa Dembélé who cracked an unstoppable left-footed shot past Silvio Proto from outside the area, to send Tottenham to the top of Group J.

The 21 year old has made three appearances in the competition.

In Norway, Ogenyi Onazi played all 90 minutes for Lazio who defeated Rosenburg 2-0. Filip Djordjevic scored a brace as the Italians moved top of group G with ten points from four games.

In the other group fixture, Michael Babatunde was not listed for Dnipro who fell 3-0 awat to Saint-Etienne.

In Scotland, Efe Ambrose was an unused substitute as ten man Celtic lost 2-1 loss at home to Molde. Ambrose has made nine appearances in the competition since making his debut in 2012. The Hoops remain bottom of the log with two points from four games.

In Azerbaijan, Elderson Echiejile played the last 12 minutes of his side's 1-1 draw against Qarabağ in Thursday's UEFA Europa league game.

Echiejile replaced injured Lacina Traore for his second appearance in the competition

The result sees Monaco second in their lead in group J with Tottenham Hotspur defeating Anderlecht 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

The French side who face third plaxce Anderlecht next at the Louis Stadium on the 26th of November also maintain a two point gap over the Azerbaijan outfit who remain at the bottom.
