By James Agberebi: Nigeria forward Imoh Ezekiel made his LaLiga debut as struggling Las Palmas’ relegation woes continued with a 2-1 home defeat to Sevilla on Saturday.
Rio 2016 star Ezekiel, who joined Las Palmas as a free agent after cancelling his contract with Konyaspor, was introduced in the 42nd minute for Gabriel Penalba but could not rescue his side from defeat.
Also in action for Las Palmas was Oghenekaro Etebo who is on loan from Portuguese side Feirense amd has played thrice for the Spanish club.
A goal in each half from Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia in the 35th and 50th minutes put Sevilla 2-0 up.
Las Palmas made a nervy end to the match as Jonathan Calleri scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.
The defeat means Las Palmas now occupy 18th position on 18 points in the league table.
Sevilla are fifth on 39 points, three points behind Real Madrid in fourth.
