Nigeria striker, Imoh Ezekiel made a goalscoring return to the Jupiler Liga as his Standard Liege team crushed Mouscron-Peruwelz 3-0 on Friday.
Ezekiel had left the Stade Maurice Dufrasne for Al Arabi of Qatar at the start of the season, but made a loan switch back barely six months after leaving Belgium.
Three first half goals was enough to ensure Ezekiel started on a winning note in his latest Belgian adventure.
Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez opened the scoring for Standard Liege in the 10th minute of the game after being teed up by Julien de Sart.
Ezekiel was on song for his first goal since his return and Standard’s second of the game as the impressive De Sart was once again the provider of the assist.
Igor de Carmargo scored the third for Standard in the 26th minute of the first half as Mouscron were able to avoid more goals in the game as Standard ran out 3-0 winners.
The 21-year-old, who was once courted by Belgium, earned his only international cap for Nigeria in the friendly international against Mexico in March 2014.
