Ezenwa, Ali, Okpotu, Faleye, 19 Others Make Home Eagles CHAN Squad

Head coach Salisu Yusuf has released his final squad of 23 players of the Super Eagles B squad for the fifth African Nations Championship (CHAN) starting in Morocco on January 12. Goalkeeper and skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, midfield veteran Rabiu Ali of Kano Pillars and Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer last season Anthony Okpotu are all included in the squad announced via a Nigeria Football Federation press release on Tuesday.

Enyimba’s Ezenwa is joined by two other goalkeepers Dele Ajiboye of Plateau United and Theophilus Afelokhai of Enyimba, with late call-up Nasarawa United’s Suraj Oyeleso dropped.

Defenders Osas Okoro, Stephen Eze and Kalu Orji Okogbue also made the squad, as well as midfielders Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Ekundayo Ojo and forwards Sunday Faleye and Emeka Atuloma.

The team of 23 players and their officials are expected to fly out of the country in a few days, to continue preparations in Morocco ahead of Nigeria’s first match of the campaign against Rwanda in Tangier on Monday, 15th January.

The 2014 bronze medallists will also play 2014 champions Libya at the same Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier on Friday, 19th January, before travelling to Agadir to tackle Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday, 23rd January.
