Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, says the team will go all out for a win against their hosts, Seychelles in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Victoria, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The three-time African champions who failed to qualify for the last two editions of the AFCON must beat the Pirates to revive their hopes of making it to Cameroon 2019 after losing 2-0 at home to South Africa in their matchday-one encounter in June 2017.
Gernot Rohr’s men are firm favourites to pick maximum points against Seychelles who were pummelled 5-1 by Libya in their first qualifying fixture, and Ezenwa states that the Super Eagles will take nothing for granted against their hosts.
”We know the importance of this game. It’s a win or bust situation for us after what happened against South Africa last year,” the Enyimba goalkeeper told CSN.
“So, you can expect us to go all out from the blast of the whistle and get a win from the game which is the most important thing.
“The fans are looking to us and have high hopes too. We can’t afford to disappoint them again after failing to qualify for the last two AFCON finals.”
The encounter which will take place at the Linite Stadium Victoria will kick-off at 1.30pm Nigerian time (4.30pm) local time.
