The Football Association of England have charged Manchester United following the club's exit from the FA Cup on Monday.
United lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after midfielder Ander Herrera was sent off in the first half. N'Golo Kante scored the game's only goal in the second half.
"Manchester United have been charged for failing to control their players," the FA announced in a terse statement on their website on Tuesday.
"It follows an incident in the 35th minute of the Emirates FA Cup quarter final tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday [Monday 13 March 2017].
"The club have until 6pm on Friday 17 March 2017 to respond to the charge."
