Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo was left out of the Watford squad as they crashed out of the English FA Cup to Millwall with a 1-0 defeat at The Den on Sunday.
Ighalo’s exclusion from the game fuelled speculation that the Super Eagles forward could be set for a January move away from Watford after the club confirmed that offers had been recieved for the 27-year-old who has scored just twice this term.
Ighalo’s fellow Nigerian Isaac Success compatriot was also missing from the squad.
It was the second defeat Watford suffered to Millwall in their last 11 meetings in all competitions and the Hornets 15th this season.
Steve Morison scored a late winner for the League One side who will know their opponents in the last 16 on Monday.
Morison hit a first time shot to beat Heurelho Gomes who came on for Costel Pantilimon in the closing stages of the first half to deny the Hornets a chance for a replay.
The Hornets went in search of an equaliser and were unlucky not to have levelled scores when Troy Deeney’s goal-bound shot from close range was blocked by Byron Webster.
Younes Kaboul also came close with a towering header but the League One side held on to their lone goal lead to advance to the next round.
