FA Cup: MFM Crush Bridge Boys, Kanu’s Papilo FC Stun Heartland

Nigeria ProfessionalFootball League side, Mountain of Fire and Miracles, on Sunday at the Agege Stadium defeated Bridge Boys 4-0 to win this year’s edition of the Lagos State FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Sikiru Olatunbosun scored a brace with Onuwa Chukwuka scoring the third before Nelson Tenedon scored the fourth and final goal of the night.
Crown of Ogbomoso edged Shooting Stars Sports Club 2-1 in Oyo State in one of the upsets of the 2016 States FA cup finals.
In Owerri, Nwankwo Kanu’s football academy, Papilo FC, caused the major upset of the cup finals with a 1-0 defeat of NPFL side, Heartland FC.
It proved sweet revenge to Kanu’s side who last year lost 2-1 to the Naze Millionaires in the state final but reached the Round of 16 of the Federation Cup.
Sunshine Stars pegged city rivals, Akure United, 1-0 in the Ondo State final while Gateway of Abeokuta defeated Almar FC of Ijebu Ode 3-0 in the Ogun final just as Prime FC recorded a slim 2-1 win over Fehinty Academy to emerge Osun State FA Cup kings.
