Oscar grabbed a hat-trick and Nigerian midfielder Mikel Obi was an unused substitute for Chelsea who cruised into the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 5-1 win over MK Dons on Sunday.
Brazil midfielder Oscar scored a first half hat-trick with the other strikes from Eden Hazard and Betrand Traore.
Chelsea took the lead after Diego Costa pounced on a poor throw-in and rolled the ball across the face of goal for Oscar to apply a simple finish in the 16th minute but the hosts restored parity when Nemanja Matic deflected in Darren Potter’ s shot which looped up over Thibaut Courtois in goal for Guus Hiddink’s men seven minutes later.
The Brazilian restored the lead for Chelsea when he fired home Reuben Loftus-Cheek’s clever pass in the 32nd minute and completed his first-half hat-trick when he drifted across the edge of the MK Dons box to beat David Martin in goal for MK Dons.
Hazard made it four from the spot after he was fouled in the box by Potter. The Belgian stepped up and sent Martin the wrong way for his first goal of the season.
Hazard then set up Traore for Chelsea’s fifth when he rolled a cut-back into the path of the Burkina Faso internationa who hit a sweet left-footed strike into the far corner for his first goal in a Blues shirt.
