FA Hand Mourinho Stadium Ban, £40k Fine; Warn Assistant Coach

Jose Mourinho's stadium ban has been activated and he has been fined an additional £40,000 after he admitted a Football Association misconduct charge.

The Chelsea coach was initially given a suspended sentence and fined £50,000 after a seven-minute rant in which he criticized the referee following a Premier League defeat.

The FA in a statement on Monday explains that Mourinho has breached the terms of the suspended sentence after another blast at the referee of Chelsea’s defeat at West Ham.

The FA said in a statement: "Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Jose Mourinho has been given a one-match stadium suspension with immediate effect and fined £40,000.

"The Chelsea manager admitted an FA charge of misconduct regarding his language and/or behaviour towards the match officials in or around the dressing room area during half-time of the game against West Ham United on 24 October 2015.

"With regard to Chelsea coach Silvino Louro, who denied an FA misconduct charge in relation to the same game, The FA, having considered further representation, withdrew the formal charge of improper conduct but reminded him of his responsibilities."
