CESC FABREGAS insists Jose Mourinho has finally turned him into a midfield world-beater.
Fabregas, 27, has inspired Chelsea’s unbeaten push at home and in Europe since a £27million summer move from Barcelona.
The Spaniard spent three mixed years at the Nou Camp following an emotional return to Catalonia from Arsenal in 2011.
But the Stamford Bridge pass master, who has a record ten assists from his first 12 league games this term, has thanked Mourinho for helping him realise his potential at last.
He said: “I am playing football with him where I feel really good, in the position I like to play in. I feel free.
“Perhaps I’m playing the best football of my career.mI hold the ball and the confidence just keeps growing.”
Fabregas was this month accused of dodging his national duty by Sergio Ramos — who claimed the midfield ace lacked “commitment” to the Spain cause.
But the World Cup and European Championship winner denied ducking out and claims he gave Ramos both barrels in private talks over the row.
He added: “I’ve played a total of 94 games for Spain, I’ve been going for nine years, always. And with a big smile.
“I already told Sergio what I thought about it. I told him that we played together since the U21s and there was no need for him to send messages through the press.
“I said to him that he could call me up and tell it to my face. Everything is clear now and that’s what we had to do, to speak.We spoke on the phone and everything is fine.”
