Falconets Beat Austrian Side FC Bergheim In Friendly

Nigeria’s U-20 Women Team, the Super Falconets started their foreign tour on a winning note by pipping Austrian side, FC Bergheim 3-0 in a friendly game on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

Goals from Adebisi Saheed and Monday Gift plus an own-goal by their opponent gave the Falconets the win.

Their next game is against  FC Wacker Innsbruck of Austria.

The Chris Danjuma led team who arrived in Austria on Saturday are in the country for a 12- day training exercise ahead of the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals taking place in France next month.

They will leave for France on August 2nd  ahead of the tournament starting on  August 5th.

Nigeria will battle Haiti, China and Germany in Group D at the competition.

The Falconets’ opening match is against perennial foes Germany (who beat Nigeria in the 2010 and 2014 Final matches) at the Stade de Marville in Saint-Malo on Monday, 6th August, before clashes with Haiti at the same venue on Thursday, 9th August and against China in Dinan/Léhon’s Stade de Clos Gastel on Monday, 13th August.
