NIgeria’s U-20 Women’s team, the Falconets face Korea Republic tonight at the Moncton Stadium with coach Peter Dedevbo eyeing victory against the Asians.
The West Africans came from a goal down to salvage a draw against Mexico in their opening match of the competition on Wednesday.
The Falconets now have to dust themselves and target maximum points against the Koreans, a fact not lost on Dedevbo.
“Looking ahead to the next match, I want to work on every position on the field – goalkeeping, defence, midfield, but the most important thing we need to improve on is our finishing,” he said.
“There are some matches that, although you expect to win, you can’t manage to do so, and I’m a little bit disappointed that we did not win against Mexico.
Dedevbo will hope his electrifying trio of Courtney Dike, Asisat Oshoala and Ugo Njoku improve on their performance from the opening game and convert their chances.
One player who was also in fine form against Mexico was goalkeeper,Sandra Chiichii and her sharp reflexes and shot saving ability will be needed against the sharp Korean attackers.
Other favourites like Osarenoma Igbinovia and Loveth Ayila are expected to feature in the game.
In the other Group C game,England will clash with Mexico the same day at the Moncton Stadium.
All teams in the group boast of a point each, after England and Korea recorded a 1-1 draw in their opening group game. Martha Harris’ second half equaliser ensured the Asians shared the points against England.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
