Falcons Face Congo In Opening AAG Clash

By Sab Osuji In Brazzaville:

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will kick off their 2015 All Africa Games campaign on Sunday with a clash against hosts, Congo Brazzaville.

The opening group A match has been slated for Stade Massmba.

The Nigeria side, reigning Africa women’s champions, expect a tough one confronting hosts in a competition of this magnitude.

The coach Christopher Danjuma side will try to win in order to keep their hopes of qualifying from the group and possibly winning the gold medal live.

For the Nigerian women team, only victory against Congo on Sunday and further pregression in the women’s football event of the All Africa Games can restore their pride not only as super powers of African women football but also erase the sad memory of their failed campign at the recently concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
