Nigeria women’s U-17 team, the Flamingoes, are expected back in the country on Monday after crashing out in the group stage at the on-going FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan, the Nigeria Football Federation have announced.
The Flamingoes lost 3-0 to North Korea in their final group game on Saturday to get knocked out.
They had lost 1-0 to Brazil in their opening game before drawing 0-0 against England in their second group game.
Aside from crashing out in the group stage, the Flamingoes failed to score a single goal at the tournament.
Also, this is the second time the Flamingoes will fail to qualify from the group stage.
At the maiden edition of the U-17 World Cup in New Zealand, the team got eliminated in the preliminary round.
