Nasarawa United goalkeeper, Suraj Ayeleso was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2016 Federation Cup which final his team lost to FC Ifeanyiubah at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Lagos on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ayeleso, despite ending on the losing side, put up a fine performance in the encounter.
It was a big consolation for the experienced goalie who was impressive for the Lafia-based outfit in the competition.
A disappointed Ayeleso told Completesportsnigeria.com he was sad to end up on the losing side despite scooping the award.
"The most important thing is the trophy and I'm disappointed we couldn't win at the end of the day," Ayeleso told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We came here with the intention of winning the trophy but you can't win in football all the time.
"Winning the MVP is good but is not bigger than the trophy."
