Nigeria’s D’Tigers recorded their second win at the FIBA World Cup African qualifiers on Saturday night, defeating Rwanda 111-70 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Alex Nwora’s side had earlier on Friday blown out Uganda 109-66 in their opening game.
D’Tigers won the first quarter 28-24 and extended their lead in the second quarter, recording 52-33 lead points.
At the end of the third quarter, Alex Nwora’s side were leading Uganda 81-42.
Obi Emegano was D’Tigers top scorer in the encounter with 24 points coming off the bench.
Jordan Nwora who started the encounter also bagged 17 points and nine rebounds to help Nigeria to their second win in the second leg of the FIBA World Cup African qualifiers.
Ben Uzoh also recorded 14 points and three assists just as Bryant Mbamalu did for the 2015 FIBA AfroBasket champions and 2017 runners-up.
