FIBA WWC: Rampant D’Tigress Send Greece Packing, Face USA In Q-Finals

Nigeria’s D’Tigress will face USA in the quarter-finals of the ongoing FIBA Women’s World Cup (FIBA WWC) in Tenerife, Spain after they edged Greece 57-56 in the ‘quarter final qualifiers on Wednesday, reports

The Otis Hughley’s team started off on a slow note drawing the first quarter 15-15 But edged the Greek side by five points recording a 16-11 lead in the second quarter.

At the start of the third quarter the 2017 Afrobasket Champions increased their lead by a point to end the third quarter

Despite losing the final quarter 19-9, Hughley’s side held on for a nervy win.

Evelyn Akhator scored double, 14 points 13 rebounds, two assists and four steals.

Promise Amukamara bagged 13 points, three rebounds and two steals.

Ezinne Kalu on her part scored 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

The Nigerian side will face the USA on Friday in the quarter-final of the competition.

    Where did this scores against Argentina come from? The game I watched yesterday was Argentina 70 – 75 Nigeria.Please kindly rectify it.

      This is a playoff game which was played today between 2nd place teams and 3rd place teams after yesterday’s game and the winner qualifies for the Quater finals to join the first placed teams
