FIFA Ranking: NFF Upbeat Super Eagles Will Bounce Back

By Bamidele Boluwaji:

The Nigeria Football Federation's Technical Committee boss, Chris Green has reacted to the latest FIFA ranking which saw the Super Eagles remaining on same spot followong their poor performance at the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, reports

The world football governing body on Thursday placed Nigeria on 67th position in the global ranking and 14th in Africa.

Speaking to  shortly after the ranking was released, Green said lesson have been learnt from the AFCON qualifiers and the 2013 African champions will bounce back with the programme the federation has for the team ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

"Well, I must say we are not happy with this development, but in every situation, there must be something to learn from it," says the legal practitioner.

"I want to assure Nigerians that we are working hard to make sure Nigeria improve next time the ranking is released, and part of what we have planned to make that realistic is the friendly matches the team will play and the programmes we have for the team."

Green believes that if the Super Eagles had won the last two AFCON qualifying games, Nigeria would have improved on the ranking. He is however confident that the future is better for the team.

Meanwhile, Algeria still remain Africa's highest ranked team as they are on 33rd position in the world.

Mr Green stop deceiving yourself and not Nigerians cos since you and your group had been in charge of the soccer affairs ,we havent being where we used to be. The corruption in your cader isnt helping our issue. How could we win matches while NFF keep on taking matches to un-winning stadium even against the wishes of the coaches and players. You guys should vacate those post let other serious ones who could lead us to the promise land take charge. we dont tire of una yeye promise ooooooooooooooo and try your luck way.

I have been in sports organization in foreign country but I have never seen a thing like this NFF before! It's really a shame. This was why people of integrity and credibility like Dr. Patrick Ekeji resigned his appointment to keep his good name. Or didn't you guys see how Sylvanus Okpalla was treated and thrown away from the national team. Those people do not want anyone to tell them the truth. Sunday Olise once said that NFF officials do not like Nigeria team to progress! Coach Olise can't be more right with his remarks of Nigerian Football Federations towards football organization. We are 5TH in world rankings to 67TH and from first in Africa to 14TH .Do we need to tell these people to resign? I am not saying that Giwa should come. They are to leave now, all of them go, and new people should be appointed to take over.
