African champions, Nigeria are ending the 2014 in 43rd place in the latest FIFA rankings released by the world football governing body on Thursday.
The Super Eagles have dropped one place in the latest classifications and are now ranked as the ninth best football playing nation in Africa.
Nigeria, who will miss from next year’s African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, amassed 656 points in the latest ranking.
Algeria, Tunisia, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ghana, Guinea, Cape Verde and Cameroon are the African countries ranked above Nigeria in the latest rankings.
Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands are the top five countries, in descending order, in the latest rankings.
