FIFA Snubs Darlung’s Visit Proposal, Warns Against Bringing Giwa To FIFA Headquarters; Insists On Monday Deadline

FIFA has turned down request by Nigeria’s sports minister, Solomon Darling to visit its offices in Zurich, Switzerland for the purpose of discussing the current crisis bedevilling the country’s football, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.

The Nigerian embassy in Switzerland had on behalf of the minister written a letter to FIFA seeking to meet the leadership of the world soccer ruling body to discuss issues bordering on Nigerian football and the leadership tussle.

But FIFA, in a letter signed by general secretary, Fatma Samoura, turned down the request stating that the president of the body, Gianni Infantino is indisposed at the moment.

FIFA, in the letter also stated that a member of the delegation for the proposed visit, Chris Giwa , who claimed to have been legitimately elected as president of the Nigeria Football Federation and is currently serving a worldwide ban is not qualified visit FIFA.

“We refer to the correspondence dated 15 August 2018 from Ambassador of Nigeria in Switzerland, H.E Baba Madugu, the contents of which have received our full attention,” reads the letter from FIFA.

” In this respect, while we are of the seriousness and urgency of the matter, we regret to inform you that we are not in a position to respond favourably to your request for an appointment. Intact, the FIFA president is indisposed during the proposed period.

“Moreover, we would like to recall that one member of the proposed delegation, Mr Chris Giwa, is currently under a worldwide ban, in accordance with the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee dated 10 January 2017 to extend to the five-year ban from taking part in any football-related activity imposed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee on 12 May 2016.”

FIFA further reminded the Nigeria sports minister of its earlier stance on suspending Nigeria from participating in international football as the Amaju Pinnick led a NFF board has been prevented from discharging their duties as the one recognised the world football governing body

“In this context, we would like to seize this opportunity to remind you as the per the decision rendered by FIFA’s bureau of the council on 13 August 2018. In the event, the NFF offices are not handed back to the legitimate NFF under President Amaju Melvin Pinnick by Monday, 20 August, 2018 at 12.00 (CET), the NFF will be suspended with immediate effect for contravening binding obligations of the FIFA statues.

“The suspension would only be lifted once the NFF, under Amaju Melvin Pinnick and general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi confirm that they were given back the effective control of the NFF and its offices.”

  • Plz let the ban come now now,plz is mr Buhari there?,how can him bring this shame called sports minister to our dear country, this idiot called dulang should be sack immidiatly and go to jail,

I decided to keep my opinions to myself concerning Nigerian footbal for a while, but this Dalung of a man, and his partner in crime Giwa, keeps tempting me to come out of hibernation.

They think that foreign organisations are run like Nigeria.

Keep following yourselves you cow dung! When Nigeria is suspended and all sponsors run away, you will become the president of an unrecognised NFF (like a king without any subjects).

Meanwhile Pinnick, the man you wish to overthrow, keeps thriving in NFF and FIFA.

  • Presh 3 years ago

I see why Victor Moses retired, you don’t know what this fool Dalung must be doing to their heading, let them ban Nigeria , failure in every thing. See stupidness.

  • Greenturf 3 years ago

How’s this sports minister still in power?beats my imagination.
Everyone can see why the nation is in a terrible state.I believe most of the executive members under Buhari’s government are no different and the man in question at the helms of affair is weak and disinterested.
Meanwhile,I can’t see Nigeria escaping this ban because Dalung is hell bent on having Giwa his friend as the chairman of our football house.I also read that he is preparing to take fifa to the court of arbitration. That was when I came to the conclusion that this man is ill he is mentally demented.
My sympathies to the youth teams of the country preparing to establish their names in the world stage also our super eagles as they prepare to take on Seychelles in the afcon qualifiers as its at the moment very unlikely though.
Unless something happens from the crawling presidency in the next couple of days else this ill man Dalung will send our football to the oblivion.
    God bless Nigeria.

Dalung and his plateau state brother are sick, mad and bastard  son of nigeria .hw on earth can one explain the pull pinnick down at all cost syndrome that they are both involve in. Anyway I know fifa is an ethically responsible organisation so no wahala no matter what they can’t succeed. This pinnick as helped pay outstanding salaries of Nig coaches  both dead or alive .he refuse to use the money meant for the players to ferry the so called administrators to Russia 2018 part of the reason why dalung and his sibling giwa will do,anything including sabotaging  the  football, the joy stick of  Nigerians by masterminding the kidnap of mikel father prior to a do or burst game against ARG . If that ban finally landed then dalung shld be sacked for taking sides on issue he shld be neutral as a sport minister.

  • At this stage, I want to join my voice to people calling for FIFA to ban Nigeria. Shebi today is Friday (last working day) and the hammer will come down on Monday? Good. Very good. FIFA, please, na beg we dey beg una, I’m on my knees, BAN NIGERIA first thing on Monday morning! Don’t listen to any plea oo, or last minute damage control measures. Na our way be that. We think say everybody for earth na Nigerian.

Let us see what will become of the stupid, recalcitrant thing call Giwa or the daft one called Dalung. Let’s see how it will not affect the rating of this govt and maybe even in elections. Buhari and Osinbajo should continue to turn the eye and play mute. Good, very good. In fact, it’s perfect. P-E-R-F-E-C-TO!

See Dalung and Giwa want to follow the backdoor and force their decision down FIFA’s throat. Yes, both of you are too intelligent. Infantiono and Samoura don’t realise how smart and right both of you are.

What is there to watch or look forward to sef again in Nigeria football. The fumbling and wombling fake Falconets team is out as expected. Nigeria always think they can go far on the world stage with man-know-man things. Shey we don’t respect merit in Nigeria. You may have your way in Nigeria, at the world stage you will fall yakata. I know more than half of those girls and the coach were not selected on merit. I refuse to believe.

The most exciting SE baller, Victor Moses too has retired. We kukuma didn’t qualify for the last 2 AFCONs, so missing out on another one is no biggie. In fact. Rohr should apply for other African team’s manager role now if he get sense. I think the Algeria post is still open.

Yes, LET’S CLOSE SHOP until further notice.

Unyielding Giwa and insensitive dalung. Your dance of shame is becoming even embarrassing to yourselves. First of all majority of Nigerians frown against your unholy alliance. Now you just received another rude shock from Fifa. You are not wanted anywhere close to their office since you usurped nff.

Does that not speak volumes that you’re on the wrong side of the divide?haba naija.this govt smells of incompetence from crown to soul to d point that a motley fool is the minister of sports. Giwa looks so morose and that is reflective in his character.you can never be nff president.ban or no ban.

  • The thing look easy. Osibanjo is a SAN. He has been taking major decisions in the absence of Buhari. So why the delay in taking a stand. Any reasonable person who has the interest of the peoples would have taken a definite stand on this matter. So therefore there is an agenda for the delay. Nff has money and so the target is that money. If FIFA ban Nigeria who will control nff money? The sports minister under Dalung. So these guys know what they are doing. FIFA ban will profit them.

  • stanley 3 years ago

Dalung is not qualified to be a sport minister in the first place.I dont see any difference between this man and cow.

  • matsho 3 years ago

Don’t blame Dalung, blame the one who appointed him and has been watching him doing the same rubbish in Basketball and Football Federations in Nigeria. This is the worst Sport Minister I have ever seen in Nigeria.

  • Prince 3 years ago

Dalong all along have been exhibition his ignorance of sport administration in Nigeria, now he has shown it to the world, the letter was displayed on BBC website so I am waiting for their next denier of such letter, I’m even disappointed that they have not issue a statement disbunking the news and threaten to deal with FIFA if they try such, bunch of butterfly calling themselves birds

  • This Dalung of a man has been a disaster for Nigerian sports. I cannot for the life of me understand why he has not been booted out by President Buhari’s goernment. He has been a monumental failure and, by extension, a complete disgrace to football in particular and sports in general. Where does he not put on his thinking cap and do away with that stupid cap he wears on his head.

How illogical is it to take Giwa to FIFA headquarters in Zurich when you know this man is under a 5-year world-wide ban from football? Do you think that FIFA will bend its rules to accommodate your stupidity? Pinnick has been a blessing to Nigerian football and because of Giwa’s selfish interest – which I believe has to do with money in NFF. He wants to undo the good work Pinnick has done so far and to think that Dalung is in cohoots with this man to destroy the careers of young Nigerians beggars belief.

I am calling on the Acting President to call these men (Dalung and Giwa) to order and find a way of solving this problem before FIFA’s ban falls with its devastating consequences. Please Mr Acting President help Nigerians both home and abroad who love, passionately, this sport.

  • ALFREDINHO 3 years ago

This is the most confused and inept government I have seen in Nigeria .How can the Sports minister try to bring in a man(Giwa) that has been banned by FIFA ?. The people at the top( Leaders) lack the mentality of leadership and has affected the people .
When will they stop bringing shame to Nigeria as leaders ?.

  • Sunnyb 3 years ago

I told u guys, Nigeria is a failed state by all indexes. Can we compare Rwanda to Nigeria now? a country ruined by civil war just few  years ego. Guys pls don’t blame Cowdung or Giwa, these two maggots are playing out a script. Northern conspiracy at work remember NFA is one there ATM, just like NPA.

  • ako amadi 3 years ago

This is very humiliating to the country that a serving Nigerian minister is snubbed by a sports organization. FIFA has practically placed a travel ban to Switzerland on Dr Dalung and that is a national disgrace. But by the way, did the minister intend to finance this trip to Switzerland with his tribal brothers out of pocket, or were they going to use the Nigerian taxpayer’s money for their estacode allowances? Is this how governments fight corruption?

  • emeka 3 years ago

so because amaju pinick does not allow the money that is made for players bonuse, and logistics to be shared that why this useless and senseless dalung and his fellow block head giwa wants to throw him out of office by force.

  • Dalung my god will punish you and entire family am going to kill you myself dirty man cow foolish man

  • Mikel Oj 3 years ago

Solomon Dalung is the worst Sports minister I have ever seen in my life, he lacks the capacity of moving Nigeria football forward..Buhari and his cowhorts are ruining this country

  • Dalung na very useless Minister of sports, FIFA you are on point, don’t let those Cows ruin Nigeria football, imagine at this stage where Nigeria football is about to blow with lots of sponsorship and endorsement deals..This is what you get when you elect a cow as a president, he will definitely appoint cows as well

  • Look are their faces in the picture above………….The Monkey (Dalung) in the Gorilla shadow (Giwa).

  • My people i thnk God that u guys has finally understand wat am been crying for since, dat caw called dulang said in an interview in cameroon at women nations cup in yaounde dat he never expect our girls to make it to final,he did the worst during olympic game, plz can someone show me his house let me solve this isue buy finishing dat idiot,i can do dat for the good of my beloved country

  • Pompei 3 years ago

Shey una see the wahala whey Solo wan put for una head? Solo! Solo!! Solo!!! How many times did I call you? You and Giwa want to visit FIFA headquarters, to do what? Who send una message? Infantino kuku no get ya time. He is indisposed, as the letter said. I think this is the first time in world history that a minister of a country has been so shunned by a sports organisation! It’s very funny, actually. Solo wan use man-know-man influence FIFA. Lol! Come Monday, if Nigeria collect ban from football worldwide, WORLDWIDE, we all know it is because of these two. What a show of shame!
