FIFA has officially welcomed the Super Falcons and Nigeria' team delegation to the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada, the Nigeria Football Federation website reports.
According to the NFF, the reception for the African champions was held on Saturday at the team's Hilton Winnipeg Airport Suites base where players and officials did their accreditation for the World Cup and were put through the code of conduct on and off the pitch during the competition.
Falcons captain Evelyn Nwabuoku praised FIFA for the welcome, promising that the girls would be of good conduct throughout their stay in Canada.
"I want to on behalf of my team thank you for this warm welcome and putting us through the rules. I promise you that we will not lose focus on the reason we are here," Nwabuoku said.
The team had earlier trained for two hours in the morning, which was their first training session in Winnipeg, venue ofMonday's opening match against Sweden. The match kicks off at 9pm Nigerian time. The other teams in the tough grouo are the USA and Australia.
