Flamingoes’ Ajibade, Kenneth Get Falconets Call-Ups For U-20 World Cup

Coach of Nigeria's U-20 women's team, Falconets, Peter Dedevbo, has invited to camp two members of the Flamingoes squad that participated in the on-going FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan, ahead of next month's FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

The two invited players are skipper of the Flamingoes, Rasheedat Ajibade of FC Robo, who made her second appearance at the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan, and central defender Catherine Kenneth from Rivers Angels.

Both players have already joined the rest of other invited Falconets players at the Serob Legacy Hotel camp, Abuja.

Speaking on their invitation, Dedevbo told thenff.com that he decided to invite both players because he was impressed with their output in the Flamingoes team.

"I watched Rasheedat and Catherine during their tournament and I liked the way they played," Dedevbo said.

"I think they did very well despite the Flamingoes’ early exit at the World Cup. I intend to take a closer look at them during training sessions because I believe that they can fit into my plans for the World Cup."

Meanwhile, the Falconets were on Sunday evening held to a 1-1 draw by Eaglesnet Logistics Academy in a friendly match at the FIFA Goal Project pitch, Abuja.

Chinaza Uchendu put the Falconets ahead in the 22nd minute, before Dele Femi levelled for Eaglesnet through a goal-mouth scramble.
