Former Enyimba player, Victor Ezeji has ruled out coaching career in his plans after announcing his retirement from football on Wednesday in Lagos, Completesportsnigeria.
The former striker who was part of the Enyimba squad that won the CAF Champions League for the very first time in 2003, says he has so many things to lay his hands on, but coaching is not one of them.
“I am happy retiring from this game and I must say I have so many things I want to lay my hands on, but coaching is definitely not one of them,” says Ezeji, also a former Sharks and Dolphins of Port Harcourt striker.
“Coaching is tedious and has no link with what I am planning for myself so I won’t go into it."
Ezeji would also reveal his best and worst experiences as a player in the Nigerian League.
According to the former Super Eagles striker, his worst experience in Nigerian league was travelling by road at night to match venues for league games.
Ezeji said: ”Despite all I enjoyed in the Premier League, my worst experience in the league was traveling by road at night to match venues for league games. This should be totally eradicated from the league so that the players and officials will not be exposed to unnecessary risks.”
Meanwhile, the Abia-born University of Port Harcourt graduate says his best experience in the Nigeria Professional League are the positives being recorded recently by the League management board led by Alhaji Sheu Dikko.
“Well, since I have said the negative aspect of it, I must say the positive which is the improvement I have seen of recent in the league. The board is doing a lot, but I believe they can do more to improve the standard Of the Nigerian League,” Ezeji concludes.
