Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has indicated he would be open to a return to Arsenal before his career comes to an end. Fabregas managed over 300 appearances for the Gunners in eight seasons with the club before returning to Barcelona in 2011.
The Spain international, who was not involved in his country’s World Cup squad this summer, now plays for rivals Chelsea but has struggled for action so far this season.
The 31-year-old featured heavily under new boss Maurizio Sarri in pre-season but sustained an injury before the campaign began and has been unable to force his way back into the side, having managed just one substitute appearance in the Premier League under the Italian.
As such, it has been suggested Fabregas could seek an exit, and he told Spain’s Marca he would never rule out the possibility of a return to Arsenal.
“Arsenal will always be in my heart and I will never forget them so why not return. You never know,” he said. “I feel fine still. In seven months my contract ends with Chelsea.
“It will be 16 seasons playing at the highest level, over 750 games, a lot of training, travelling…
“I feel young and strong but maybe I can’t do 60 games a season.
“With my style I think I can keep playing for longer and obviously I want to keep playing for many years.”
Fabregas is due to fall out of contract at the end of the campaign and Chelsea may be open to a cut-price sale in January to avoid allowing him to move on as a free agent, although it remains to be seen whether the Gunners would be keen on a reunion.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
