Leicester City are reportedly ready to launch a January bid to sign out-of-favour Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne. Clyne has slipped from being first-choice full-back at Anfield after missing the majority of last season with a back injury and he’s now behind Trent Alexander-Arnold in the pecking order.
Clyne is now fully fit again but his only appearance so far this season came in the Carabao Cup defeat against Chelsea and the Foxes are hoping to try and lure him away in the new year with the promise of more regular first-team action.
The 27-year-old has been with Liverpool since summer 2015 and has amassed 99 appearances in all competitions to date, scoring twice, but is struggling to break back into Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
The Reds boss does not want the former Southampton man to move on as He is ideal cover for Alexander-Arnold at full-back but an offer from Leicester in excess of £15million may tempt a deal.
Clyne is under contract at Anfield until summer 2020.
